The Mega Kamaradas

Firstly, it is important to say that it is part of the dynamics of the outskirts of Pará for young people to organize themselves into groups, or "teams", to attend Aparelhagem and Tecnobrega parties.

This creates partnerships with regional bands, clothing brands, artists and sound systems. Songs are made for teams. They are played by DJs, who announce the presence of the teams during the party. This strengthens belonging and encourages young people. Thus, there are several groups of young people on the outskirts such as: "the pot crowd", "the slab crowd" and there were the "Megas Kamaradas".

From 2009 to 2014, the joy of the cultural movement Os Mega Kamaradas, which met to accompany the sound systems in the municipalities of Pará, carry out collective community games and also social community actions.

The Mega Kamaradas promoted leisure spaces and popular culture in the outskirts for youth, but there was already concern about the exercise of citizenship through social actions.

They encouraged partnerships to participate and sponsor the gathering of young people in cultural festivals, strengthening the public of sound systems such as Mega Príncipe Negro and Badala Som. They even participated in parties sponsored outside the State, in São Luiz do Maranhão.

The Megas Kamaradas met under the leadership of Marcinho Pitbull. Another important point to highlight is the name of the group: Mega Kamaradas was in honor of the Mega Príncipe Negro sound system, until 2014 the participation of around 500 young Mega Kamaradas was recorded, which is why the word “Megas” began to be used in the plural. Due to the significant participation of youth, the group became Megas Kamaradas.

Two songs were produced for Mega Kamaradas by artists from the band Gang do Eletron named: “Os Mega Kamaradas”, in 2013 and “Os Mega Kamaradas 2” in posthumous tribute to Marcinho PitBull, in 2015.
